Today I'm skipping the usual politics view to talk something a little more serious. Most people have ways to escape the craziness of the real world. Reading a book, cooking or others things. My escape is politics and sports. What happen thou when your escapes get too real? The WWe Just learned that Joe Aona'i known as Roman Reigns has been battling leukemia since he was 11 years old but recently the disease has come back.
First of all how amazing is it in this day and age to not know about his health issues. He was a standout defensive player at Georgia Tech getting all ACC honors. Then trained at FCW before it became NXT and then hitting the main roster where he currently reside at Raw every Monday.
Now he has given up his title to fight this disease again. Lets now take this two days back Purdue and Ohio State is playing a hell of a football game. Watching the game is a young man. Tyler Trent is 20 years old but right now he is battling terminal bone cancer. He saw his Purdue University Boilermakers beat Ohio State in a upset. They were not sure he would be able to make the trip. Yet he did and told anyone who listened that his team will win. The Crowd that day knowing about their honored guest instead of chanting Buckeyes suck they chanted Cancer sucks. He was honored by meeting Mitch Daniels now president of Purdue and former Governor and VP Mike Pence while sitting in the VIP booth at the stadium.
Both men's and many other fight cancer and leukemia everyday. These things tend to not know not to interrupt your escapism. They grab you or whoever you love and try to wreck the body till your nothing more then a husk of who you are. The pain of seeing the person you love slowly die out is a hard thing to handle.
We live in 2018 Science have done wonder to fight this disease yet we still don't have a cure. I urge you to find a cancer charity of your choice and help fight this disease. I wrote this because that disease hit close to home for me. I had family members fight and lose lungs also breasts to that disease. We need to fight so that people like Joseph,Tyler,Lloyd and Marcella don't have to deal with that disease again. So our escapism can be just that a escape.
